Quietness of the Mind
I have been troubled in my thoughts of who I am. Hatred
and
emotion erupted in my soul, plunging me into depths I
would have feared if I had given attention to my whereabouts.
I
begged God to guide me and interpret what I beheld in my
vision, and his mercy toward me gave strength I had not been
familiar
with before. I became exhausted in my onward push
and I became quiet in myself, and a voice spoke from my soul
these
words: “You have seen much to tell what you are and
your feeling is as valuable to your awakening.
In the move-
ment of our lives we give no time for self evaluation of our
actions, and so what would profit us becomes
of no profit. I
must make you know of this for you have made a great effort
to free yourself and mighty did you tread
the dark path, and
gently was your trust in God. I tell you a truth that all shall
enter on this path, no matter how
far they go. And seldom
do they finish; if they finish then their ability to understand
is matted by all the experience;
but I tell you it is the action
that must be reflected in the quietness of the mind of each
one of us.”
